Love Belongs in Our Lives

Love

Love is the universal language that speaks to our hearts and has the remarkable ability to kindle the brightest flames of passion, mend the deepest wounds of the soul, and weave connections that bind us in a tapestry of shared experiences.

Love belongs in our lives. It is the most powerful and wondrous force that courses through the very veins of human existence. It defies definition and transcends the boundaries of language and understanding. Its universal language speaks to our hearts. It has the remarkable ability to kindle the brightest flames of passion, mend the deepest emotional wounds, and weave connections that bind us in a tapestry of shared experiences.

Trialling The Blends for love

The result of our Love blend trials, is an exquisite blend of Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Rose Geranium and Blood Orange essential oils.

When I first came up with the idea for BathCalm, I had four blends in mind – Euphoria, Performance, Tranquility – and Love – because Love belongs in our lives!

Euphoria, Performance and Tranquility have been available now for over four years, but it was important to me that Love made it to market. Basically, it took four years to introduce this beautiful blend to you. It was a long process that took many baths, many handwritten notes, and many oils of varying quantities. As with Bathcalm’s other signature blends, I researched each oil’s traditional use, and then trialled their fragrance to evaluate ones with the most pleasing scent. Additionally, I then blended those oils to contain base, mid and top note oils. Doing this makes for a well-rounded, robust fragrance that lasts the duration of the bath… and then some! If you want to start creating your own blends, I strongly recommend you try this method. Have a look at the below blending note guide for a quick snapshot:

Blending Notes at a Glance:

  • Top Note: It’s the fragrance you notice first, and it’s usually the first to evaporate too. Top notes tend to be sharp, light and strong, like blood orange, petitgrain and bergamot.
  • Mid Note: Also known as “heart” notes, these usually form the bulk of the blend, round it out and balance it. Mid note essential oils include chamomile, honeysuckle and geranium.
  • Base Note: These oils tend to be rich and full bodied – like a good wine! Vetiver, patchouli and sandalwood are all base notes and are slower acting than the other notes. Accordingly they take a few minutes to show up, but they last the longest and add depth to the blend.

The result is an exquisite blend of Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Rose Geranium and Blood Orange essential oils.

The result is a harmonious symphony and each oil brings its unique qualities and traditional uses to create an enchanting aromatic experience.

cedarwood – Base Note

Cedrus atlantica

Traditional Uses: Relaxation, antiseptic, insect repellant

Cedarwood essential oil comes from the Atlas, Himalayan, or Virginia cedar tree. It has a grounding and comforting aroma as well as a long history, with Ancient Egyptians using cedarwood in the embalming process, and to build sacred structures.

For the Love blend, cedarwood essential oil adds depth and stability, anchoring the emotional elements of love and devotion. Its earthy and woody notes provide a strong foundation for this aromatic composition.

sandalwood – Base Note

Santalum album

Sandalwood essential oil comes from the heartwood of sandalwood trees. It boasts a rich, sweet, and woody fragrance, long revered in religious and spiritual practices. Accordingly, sandalwood’s traditional uses span across cultures, from Hindu ceremonies to Buddhist meditation sessions.

Sandalwood essential oil infuses an aura of tranquility and spiritual connection. Subsequently, its alluring and aromatic character deepens the emotional bonds that love represents, making it an essential component of this blend.

rose Geranium – Mid Note

Perlagonium capitatum x radens

Traditional Uses: Balance the skin’s natural oil production, promotes well-being

Rose Geranium essential oil is derived from the leaves and stems of the Pelargonium graveolens plant. It is renowned for its floral, rosy scent that has a hint of green freshness. Because of its lovely aroma, it’s a popular ingredient in perfumes and cosmetics.

Rose Geranium essential oil contributes a touch of elegance and tenderness to our Love blend. Its sweet and floral notes evoke feelings of love, passion, and romance – and we believe it’s the perfect mid note!

blood orange– Top Note

Citrus sinensis

Traditional Uses: Uplifting, stress reduction

Blood Orange essential oil is extracted from the rinds of ripe blood oranges and features a bright, citrusy aroma. Because of this, its traditional uses were for mood enhancement and to alleviate stress.

In the Love blend, Blood Orange essential oil adds a burst of vitality and joy, and its cheerful and zesty notes symbolise the energy of love. Accordingly, the addition of Blood Orange essential oil makes it a delightful and harmonizing component.
